Considering a visit to the Blue Lagoon while in Iceland?
Here are our top tips to make your visit to the Blue Lagoon with your teens one to remember!
THE BLUE LAGOON!!! One of the highlights of our entire trip. Yes, I know it is touristy. Yes, I know it is manmade. They do a fantastic job.
WHAT I WISH I KNEW BEFORE THE BLUE LAGOON: ALL of our worries were put at ease once there.
- Worried about showering WITHOUT swimsuit before going in the lagoon? There are individual shower stalls so you can take off your bathing suit in privacy. My daughter spent way too many hours worried about this.
- Worried about being cold walking out to the lagoon? There is an entrance to the water from the inside, it is on the left – OR – Just outside the building, you can hang up your robe so it is right there when you get out. You’re only a few steps in away from the building.
What package should you get for your time at the Blue Lagoon?
We got the package with 1 drink and 1 mask. My daughter is 12 and so she was free and we had to pay for a drink (which is much cheaper than paying for entrance!!!) We felt that was sufficient and, while expensive, definitely worth it.
What time should you book at the Blue Lagoon?
We booked the first slot of the day, 7 am. Which I was NOT excited about but turned out to be PERFECT. Since you can stay at the spa as long as you want, the crowd accumulates. Being the first in also gives you first choice of locker (we picked right next to showers) and it isn’t busy. When we left, the line was long to get in, even though it is timed.
Is The Blue Lagoon a HIT or MISS?
HIT!! The Blue Lagoon is a must do!!! There are other more natural, less expensive options if that is your style then try those. Either way, you MUST get in a lagoon! The water is AMAZING!! My 12yo couldn’t stop talking about how amazing it was. We ALL had fun.
